Stan Sutton
Stan Sutton serves as our minister. Stan received his undergraduate training at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. He received his master's degree from the Cincinnati Bible College & Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he majored in New Testament studies.
Stan serves various functions outside the church proper. He is an Assistant Chaplain at Riverview Hospital. He has also served on the hospital's institutional review committee.
Stan has frequently been a teacher at Rainbow Christian Camp. He is on the Board of Directors of Christian Counseling Services, Muncie, Indiana. He serves on the Ministerial Advisory Board of the Christian Student Foundation, Ball State University. He has used his skills as an electrician to be a volunteer for the Hamilton County Habitat for Humanity. He is a past member of Rotary and Kiwanis as well as a past baseball coach with the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club Junior League baseball, having been named Coach of the Year in 1994.
Stan has over 30 years of ministerial experience and has served the Refuge Christian Church since 1977. He and his wife, Jan, reside in Noblesville. They have two grown children. You may feel free to contact him at 317-773-3475.
Nathan Wainwright
Nathan has been the youth pastor at Refuge since June 2006. He and his wife, Chrissy, moved to Noblesville from their native state of Illinois. Both Nathan and Chrissy received undergraduate degrees from Western Illinois University (where they met), and Nathan went on to get a Master of Arts in Church Leadership from Lincoln Christian Seminary.
Driven by his desire to equip students in all aspects of their faith, he has led small group discussions, leadership teams, and has been giving guitar and bass lessons since 2003. Nathan partners with the Noblesville Youth Leader Association and can be seen frequently at the high school either visiting students during lunch or substitute teaching. A pleasantly candid person, he is sincere in his convictions and his mission to reach the community with the love of Christ.
Jan Sutton
Jan Sutton, our Music Minister, is a graduate of Ball State University and has been serving Refuge Christian Church since 1977. She became the church's choir director in 1979. And, in 1999 she was hired as the church's Music Minister. She continues to serve in that capacity and has continually sharpened her skills in the areas of music and worship by attending workshops and seminars at the National Pastor's Convention and various North American Christian Conventions.
Besides her ministry responsibilities at the church, Jan has taught both part time and full time at North Elementary School since 1993. In her spare time she enjoys friends, family - including a new granddaughter, listening to Christian music, gardening, and reading.
